Fostering a lifelong love of knowledge.
Classical Learning
At Padre Pio Academy we take seriously the formation of our students intellectually, spiritually, and culturally in the Catholic tradition. We aim to do this at the service of the universal call to holiness and to develop disciples of Jesus Christ. Padre Pio Academy does all this in fidelity to the Sacred Scriptures, Tradition, and the Catholic Church's Magisterium.

We offer this Catholic formation through prayer, through our teachers, through study and student experiences, and through out-reach.
Prayer
We have frequent and regular all-school prayers:
daily morning prayer (8:30-8:45)
weekly rosary or mass on Friday afternoons
regular opportunities for confession
In addition, we participate in spiritual bouquets, stations of the cross, may crowning and have hosted the Serra club traveling crucifix to pray for vocations. We also have a high school retreat and enroll students in the brown scapular every other year. Finally, we have a school prayer list by which the whole community of Padre Pio Academy is able to pray for intentions on that list.
For high school students, we are developing and introducing a spiritual formation program where students will learn about the spiritual life and receive some training in the development of the spiritual life – especially through personal prayer. A key feature of this program will be the opportunity to meet with a priest (initially in small groups but later one to one) to receive spiritual direction.
Teachers
It is of the utmost importance for us to hire teachers who take their own faith seriously. Faithful teachers are able to teach in ways consonant with the faith and offer an important example to their students.
Study and Student Experiences

Out-Reach
As Catholics, we cannot only care about ourselves and so we make an effort to serve others through our continued service to the elderly and to those less fortunate as part of our ongoing service component (Solanus Casey Project, nursing home visits, senior centers).
We also support the pro-life cause in various ways:
Solanus Casey Project - School students witness for life by collecting and handing out coats, gloves and clothing to the needy.
High School attendance at the Bringing America Back to Life conference (https://bringingamericabacktolife.org/)
Choose Life! program from Life Works Ohio (http://lifeworksohio.org/choose_life.asp); the Truth Booth brought to the school by LifeWorks Ohio features a beautiful 4D ultrasound imagery of babies during all stages of fetal development.
Finally, we also have a lecture series open to the public with such talks as “Pursing Personal Holiness” and “Is God Calling You to Be More Pro-Life?” and are currently developing ways to expand our educational efforts especially for our parents and members of our wider school community.
