Padre Pio Academy Hires New Dean of Religious Formation

I am delighted to join Padre Pio Academy and appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Dr. Matthew DuBroy. I am a native Clevelander, growing up in North Olmsted. I am a graduate of St. Ignatius High School and I received my B.A. from Franciscan University of Steubenville in philosophy after spending two years at Borromeo Seminary in Cleveland. Next, I earned a master’s degree in theology (S.T.M.) from the International Theological Institute in Austria!

After my time in Austria, I earned a License in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology (S.T.D.) from the Thomistic Institute at the Dominican House of Studies. During my time in the D.C. area, I also taught Latin to 4th-8th graders at St. Jerome Academy, a Catholic school with a classical liberal arts curriculum.  My family moved back to Cleveland in 2019 after about 10 years away!

This past year I started the Thomistic Institute for Ongoing Formation which aims to offer faith formation to adults at parishes and ongoing formation to priests.

I am very excited to begin my work at Padre Pio Academy! I am the new Dean of Religious Formation. I will also be teaching high school theology and will help develop and teach in the Latin program. I look forward to meeting you and working with your children in the fall!

In Christ,
Dr. Matthew DuBroy
